Braun Age Precision Digital thermometer - Digital Stick for Multi-Site Usage - Orally, Rectally or Underarm - Baby and Infant Friendly - #1 Brand among doctors(1) - PRT2000
The Braun PRT2000 is a “stick” (probe) digital thermometer designed for use by the whole family — infants, children, and adults. What sets it apart is its Age Precision™ technology: you can set the age of the person whose temperature is being measured, and the thermometer will interpret the temperature (via colour coding & indicators) in relation to what is “normal” or “fever” for that age. It supports multiple measurement sites (oral, underarm/axillary, rectal). It has a flexible tip for comfort, a large easy-read display, and a protective cap. It is water-resistant to some degree and uses a coin battery.
GENTLE SAFE - Flexible tip ensures comfort for all ages.
VERSATILE USAGE - 3-in-1 functionality for oral, rectal, or underarm.
QUICK CONVENIENT - Get results in just 8 seconds!
AGE SAVVY TECHNOLOGY - Color-coded results tailored to your child's age.
PRECISION AT YOUR FINGERTIPS - Clinically validated for accurate readings.
Key Features
Here are the important features of the Braun PRT2000:
Feature Description
Age Precision™ Technology Lets you select one of three age ranges (e.g. 0-3 months, 3-36 months, 36 months to adult), and then displays fever severity (normal / elevated / high) based on medical guidelines for that age.
Colour-coded display (Backlight / Fever Insights) After the measurement, the display backlights green / yellow / red depending on whether temperature is normal / slightly elevated / high for that age. This gives instant visual feedback.
Flexible, gentle tip The probe tip is flexible so more comfortable especially for infants, whether used underarm, orally, or rectally.
Fast reading time Gets a read-out in about 8 seconds (once detection of temperature change starts) in many conditions.
Last reading memory Recalls the previous temperature reading, useful for tracking changes over time.
Multi-site measurement Can be used under the arm, orally, or rectally, depending on age, need & comfort. The thermometer takes into account expected differences between these sites.
Water-resistance / durable design Tip / device designed to withstand normal use; easy to clean, protected against moisture.
BPA-free materials Safe material especially when using for babies/children.
Large, easy-to-read display Clear digits, backlight, colour cues help reading in low light, or quickly under stress.
°C / °F selectability Users can select which temperature unit they prefer.

Benefits
Here are the advantages of using this thermometer (particularly with the Age Precision feature):
1. More meaningful fever readings
Because “fever” is not the same threshold for everyone (infants vs older children vs adults), having an age-adjustable thermometer helps interpret whether a given reading is more or less serious depending on the age of the person. Helps reduce worry, and reduces the chance of missing a fever in a young baby.
2. Quicker decisions / early action
With colour visual feedback (green/yellow/red), parents/caregivers can quickly see if it’s safe, or if medical advice might be needed, without having to refer to external charts.
3. Gentler & more comfortable for children
Flexible tip + multiple measurement sites means you can choose a less invasive or less uncomfortable method (e.g. under the arm) when appropriate, especially for young children.
4. Useful for tracking and monitoring
The memory recall of the last reading makes it easier to monitor temperature trends, especially if you’re keeping an eye on fever progression.
5. Better safety / hygiene / durability
Being water-resistant, made from safe materials (BPA-free), easier to clean, helps ensure the thermometer stays reliable and safe over time.
6. Ease of use
Fast reading, simple buttons, colour cues, easy to interpret. Helpful especially when you have to check temperature when tired or stressed (e.g. late at night).
7. Versatile for the whole family
Because it supports various ages and measurement sites, one device works for babies, children, adults, saving cost vs having multiple thermometers.

Considerations / Limitations
While this is a strong thermometer, there are a few things to keep in mind:
Because “Age Precision” thresholds are based on underarm (axillary) measurements, interpreting colour cues when using mouth or rectal site might not fully apply (you’ll have to refer to the manual).
Even with good tech, environmental factors (room temperature, where you measure, recent drinking / feeding etc.) can affect accuracy.
The “fast reading” is after the thermometer senses temperature change — actual time may vary.
Need to replace batteries, keep spare. Battery degradation or low battery can affect performance.
The colour cues are a guide (green/yellow/red) but not a substitute for medical advice if symptoms are serious, especially in very young infants or people with weakened immune systems.
